Frankfurt Branch Manager Frankfurt, Germany
Midas Global are partnering with a global forwarder seeking a Branch Manager to join them within their Frankfurt office.
The position is will be a great opportunity for a senior leader to grow, and develop their skills to manage over 70 employees across a face paced, hard working operation.
Purpose of the position
The successful candidate is responsible for his/her actions and actions on the defined workplace, in particular for the timely, orderly and complete performance of all tasks arising in compliance with company & intra-group regulations, applicable regulations, guidelines and laws. He/she supports colleagues and superiors to the best of their ability and to the continuous improvement and optimization of workflows and processes.
Job Description on day to day Activities
- Organizes, shares and schedules the daily work
- Sets, communicates and monitors indicators of efficiency
- Identifies training needs and opportunities to develop a highly qualified functional department
- Ensures transactional and physical operations in accordance with customer requirements
- Manages and promotes team performance to maximize productivity
- Defines, implements and executes the operations strategy in the branch
- Directs and controls the transaction, customs and handling activities carried out
- Sets, communicates and follows KPIs to ensure continuous improvement of operations
- Ensures the achievement of budgetary performance by setting and monitoring clear objectives
- Ensures that operations are performed in accordance with customer requirements
- Develops a high-performance service culture within the export, import, customs and handling departments
- Drives the implementation of the Ops strategy
- Management and performance enhancement of AFR Capacity Management teams
- Ensures seamless communication and coordination with regional/global AFR management
- Coordinates end-to-end capacity creation at country level
- Ensures optimization of network procurement and implementation of all consolidation options
- Coordinates the analysis to identify the country-specific level of demand/supply, network planning and controlling
- Coordinates the control of the balance between supply and demand at country level, identifies and implements opportunities for improvement
- Ensures good relationships in day-to-day work with carriers at country level
- Sets internal rates for locally procured activities and checks the internal rates set centrally for your own country
- Escalates issues with local vendor performance to local vendors and Carrier Management AS needed
- Interacts with customers in coordination with sales
Responsibilities
- Manages and controls the performance of the team
- Maximize benefits through effective freight management
- Ensures compliance with global decisions (e.B process, carrier strategy)
- Coordinates the forecast of supply and demand in the branch
- Ensures the coverage and negotiates relevant returns(schedules, prices)
- Responsible for optimizing network procurement and consolidation opportunities
- Escalates problems with local airlines
Requirements & Qualifications
- Extensive knowledge of the freight forwarding business as well as knowledge of forwarding
- A measured track record in the role of human resources management/AFR Management (leadership, motivation and social competence)
- Demonstrates strong communication skills
- Excellent negotiating skills
- Strong problem-solving mentality
- Easily able to make well-informed decisions
